Between my back door and detached garage, we have a wooden structure topped with plastic corrugated panels which keeps my back patio covered to a certain extent.
The problem is that the wooden structure is butted right up against the eaves of the house on one side, and the gutter on the garage on the other side. And rain water drips between this area and onto my patio (and often my head while unlocking the back door every day).
Looking closely, there appears to be the remains of some manner of caulking job meant to seal this crease against water drippage.
We moved in at the end of summer, and were interested in developing this covered area, and I’d love to start by proofing it against being a mushy wet area.
But I’m a little green to working on a home, and I’m hoping someone can give me any advice on what my options are, and if a caulking sealant would work, what I should be looking for?
