I just started at a law firm today that turned out to be offices that individual lawyers inhabit. The problem does not lie there. I am commuting to the city which is about an hour so waking up at 5:30am to catch the 6:15 train to make it in by 8 (i have to take a bus as well after the train) then I work doing billing, filling the cafe on site and other stuff to be done at 5pm and commute to arrive home by 7pm (AT THE EARLIEST). The benefits are great but I am young and don’t need them. I have no desk to put my laptop that they gave me or belongings (they said i wouldn’t have a space) and communication has been poor even through the interview process. I was excited to work at a “firm” and I was told this would be a great experience for law school compared to working with kids with my interest in family law but now that i’m finding out i wont actually be servicing attorneys like they said i would and just forwarding emails or sending out mail (coworkers words not mine), im a bit disappointed. i have started to think that this commute and losing sleep/gym/therapy/LSAT study time and more isn’t worth it and now that i have another job offer closer to home, IM REALLY RECONSIDERING. thoughts? (Yes, I should’ve known better but in my defense, I was convinced by the interview
