South Africa Roadtrip Durban to Cape Town - Best route?
Hi everyone!
My partner and I are planning a 17-day road trip from Durban to Cape Town in 2026. We’ve already booked our flights.
Durban - Nov 16
Cape Town - Dec 3
We want to see the best landscapes and wildlife like everyone.
And we don't want to get robbed. Should we only drive at daylight?
We want to avoid long "marathon" driving days. We'd rather have more stops and shorter distances if that makes sense.
We prefer B&Bs or Lodges but we aren't that picky, so the main question is about the route we take.
Since we want to get a rental, do we need a 4x4?
A lot of questions. Hope you guys can help me :)
