2.5yo strongly preferring me over Dad but it's hard
Essentially what the title says, for the past couple months my toddler strongly prefers me over Dad, but only when I'm around. He's often running errands with him + at home Fridays solo with Dad (at daycare the rest of week) and they have a pure blast when I'm not there! But as soon as I'm home, he wants me for everything. Like literally won't even let Dad hand him a napkin or give him a snack lol. They have a great relationship overall but when I'm there it's totally different. I'm also a little over 3m pregnant so I think that's playing a role in his increased attachment. I love my son deeply of course but it's also tiring because pregnant + I know he's so different when he's alone with Dad.
Has anyone else dealt with this? How long did it last? Do you kinda "force" Dad to still do things, like for example if my son only wants me for baths but I need to shower, eat, or just rest...I don't want my son screaming while winding down for bed so...idk? Any suggestions/feedback welcome, thank you!
