Need some advice: LGA1700 cpu upgrade
I recently bought a prebuilt pc. Intel i5 14400f and an rx 6800.
ive been playing some games at 1080p and it seems like I have a significant CPU bottleneck. in games like slime rancher 2 at 120fps max settings, my gpu is at 40-50% utilisation, meanwhile the CPU is bouncing against 100% and im getting really bad 1% lows. subnautica 2 is even worse. if I turn down the fps to 60 it is a lot better.
im wondering, would it be worth upgrading from 14400f to a 13600k or 14600k? or is there a better value upgrade i could get that would be enough to run these a bit more comfortably, at least slime rancher 2 120fps? all the cpus above the one i have on this socket seem quite expensive compared to their current gen ryzen counterparts, but i don't have the budget for upgrading to a new mobo, CPU, and ram. I decided to get this older gen motherboars with the lga 1700 socket because i think it was a very good price (full build below).
so what would you do?
