Management styles. Act mad or act “professional” to employees
Across different companies I’ve noticed two management styles.
The manager can either often get angry and yell to scare employees and workers. Or talk to them as professionals
Both have semed to be effective at motivating workers.
When workers are afraid of getting yelled at they often work harder when the boss is around and immediately stop talking with their coworkers but don’t feel so good about their boss I general (scared or just unmotivated)
On the other hand, when workers have bosses that talks to them professionally - some of the workers are more lazy because they don’t feel so scared of any consequences, but the motivated workers seem to enjoy their job much more and want to do higher quality work
Also with the angry type of boss, workers tend to hide their mistakes, and are less open to learning from their boss or manager, they want minimal clear instructions and then continue to work and always look busy.
Overall I like doing a good job at work and prefer when people speak to me professionally. I also prefer it because coworkers hide their mistakes a lot less so there are less surprises down the track “how did this mistake happen”
