🏊 China’s Yu Zidi won the women’s 200m butterfly at the Asian Games in 2:05.08, setting a Games record at age 13.
The victory is Yu’s first major individual title. She said afterward that the performance was “only so-so.”
Yu had already become a World Championships medallist in 2025, when she was credited with bronze in China’s women’s 4x200m freestyle relay in Singapore. 🥇
The Asian Games continue through 4 October, with Yu’s record win adding to China’s strong opening day in the pool.
