The punishment for people who do things that are minor inconveniences is not great enough.
Driving with your high beams on, not returning shopping carts, talking in movie theatres, having your phone on speaker in a restaurant. I wish there was a way for me to separate myself from people like this, and that society should have harsher punishments for these types of people as they are a nuisance to others without realizing it. I’m sure everyone will agree that these things are annoying, but my unpopular opinion is that harsher punishment should be done. For example, everyone in Costco is tied to a membership, so they should be more likely to be banned for doing things like leaving a cart out, putting rotisserie chickens in random spaces so they go bad, which is ridiculously common, by the way, etc. The issue with this is that we’ve become so focused on ourselves that people have gotten more rude, and they don’t care about strangers anymore. Companies only care about things like stealing, but nobody cares about etiquette. This kind of ties into little policies like no shoes, no shirt, no service, kind of where that is enforced, the same rules need to enforce this bad behavior.
