Areas near black canyon

I plan on taking a week long trip driving from Oklahoma to go see Black Canyon of the Gunnison/Curecanti in September. Any ideas for areas I can add on? Telluride area/Weminuche/South San Juan’s wouldn’t add too many miles.

Any input/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
