I get constant microstuttering everywhere, not only in games.
Examples:
Games have random small freezes/stutters. In Cities: Skylines, the stutter often happens when I open a menu that I have never opened before. For example, opening the roads construction menu for the first time, or the power plants/electricity construction menu. After that, the same menu seems smoother. During these stutters in Cities: Skylines, I can also hear a kind of buzzing/electrical noise coming from the monitor, almost like something is being loaded in the background (it feels similar to shader compilation, but I’m not sure).
Overwatch is also affected: I experience stuttering both during gameplay and even in the main menu, which feels very choppy and laggy. More importantly, I can reproduce the issue directly on the desktop: dragging a window, especially moving it from one monitor to another, sometimes causes a small freeze or noticeable lag.
The whole system feels like it has random latency spikes.
Things I already tried:
Fresh Windows installation after changing the motherboard. Installed GPU drivers. Updated BIOS. Tested GPU stability with benchmarks (no crashes). Checked cables and GPU installation. Enabled/disabled XMP/DOCP. Currently running MemTest86 to check RAM stability. My monitor setup: Main monitor: 4K 60Hz Secondary monitor: Samsung monitor
The stuttering seems more noticeable when interacting with windows across the two displays.
Could the Ryzen 5 4500 be causing a bottleneck with the Intel Arc B580 and creating these kinds of stutters, or should I be looking somewhere else? Has anyone experienced similar microstuttering after switching to a B550 motherboard or with an Intel Arc GPU?
