When did the general consensus start turning against Peter x MJ?
Back in the 2010s, I remember MJ and Peter was the main Spiderman relationship that people wanted. Most Peter x Felicia Hardy stuff was kind of waved away with things such as “Black Cat only likes Spiderman but MJ loves Peter so MJ the best” or “Black Cat will always eventually leave Pete because she’s bored of the domesticity.” And any other relationship with another girl that Peter had, most people didn’t believe it would last past that particular author’s run of Spidey. But now posts shipping Black Cat and Spidey have people saying that she is the better pick over MJ. Was it the whole Paul arc that soured people’s view on MJ? Is it people getting tired of Marvel editorial continually baiting them but never giving them MJ and Peter’s fully realized relationship? Or is it something else?
