Youngest turned 8 earlier this month. First night in the backcountry as a family / first trip for our youngest. Just over three miles up Eagle River outside Anchorage, AK. Temps dipped into the 20s at night, but we were T-shirts and shorts hiking out (which was probably 50s and sunshine). Opted for 2 x 3-man tents. We've rounded the corner!
