As the title suggests I'm an anxious person, so my mind assumes that confronting = making them hate me and ruining everything even if I realistically know that sometimes it's important to find the clarity to let a relationship go. However, I will describe my situation briefly. The TLDR is that I get mixed signals from this friend and don't know if she truly likes me or not. She says she's a bad texter which has made making plans with her extremely difficult. She also has ADHD if that's relevant.
I met her like a year ago, but so far we've only ever had one or two one-on-one meetups. The rest were at parties and stuff she invited me to. We have done stuff online tho. Now keep in mind she has a lot of friends, but I'm one of those friends she knows outside of her friend group. She also explicitly said she befriended me cuz she was looking for deeper friendships in her life. Anyways, my issue is that I don't feel our friendship is that deep and it has left me feeling unfulfilled and inadequate. I want to know the best possible approach to talk to her about it. For a while I assumed she was just silently getting rid of me, but she has invited me to important events again recently, so maybe she doesn't want me gone? I don't know. I just want clarity. She has said that she values communication and honesty a lot. I was thinking about dropping her, but I do care about her. We're both women, so I'm not gonna look like a clingy guy or anything at least, I guess. Idk, I feel so cringe and desperate even imagining myself confronting her, like I'm seeking attention. My goal is to have a better connection and to do things more often with her. I feel like the backup friend often.
