Winter Jacket for December Trip to Budapest, Vienna, Bratislava, and Prague
Hi everyone!
I’ll be traveling in December (4th-14th) to Budapest, Vienna, Bratislava, and Prague, and I need help figuring out what clothing I’ll need to stay warm. Since I’m from a warmer country (winter temperatures here are usually around 6-8°C), I don’t own any winter jackets and want to make sure I’m prepared.
I’m considering buying a **3-in-1 jacket** like:
* The North Face Evolve II Triclimate DryVent * Columbia Element Blocker III Interchange (blue)
But I’m worried that these might not be warm enough for the temperatures there. I don’t want to invest in a very heavy jacket, as I won’t use it much back home. Alternatively, I’ve thought about buying **separate layers**: a warmer midlayer for insulation and a waterproof/windproof outer layer to handle rain and wind.
My plan is to wear a thermal base layer and a long-sleeve shirt underneath the jacket.
**Questions:**
* Do you think a 3-in-1 jacket is a good option for these cities in December, or would I be better off with separate layers? * Are the jackets I mentioned warm enough for this type of winter, or should I invest in something heavier? * Any specific jacket recommendations?
