This is the second guitar I've ever made as a self taught/hobbiest Luthier, and I couldn't be happier with it.
I'm in Ireland, my 'brand name' is Entropia Guitars which you can find on the usual video/posting places. But even though I have a brand, I'm not a company making guitars for sale ... I'm really just more of a hobbyist starting off and really glad to have found this sub.
I've learned to make electric guitars by watching many other hobby builders on YouTube, asking them far too many questions, buying a million tools, and giving it a go with the whole 'What could go wrong' approach. Eager to give back, I've made a series of video tutorials for anyone who's thinking of trying Luthiery themselves.
While there is a CNC in the background, I haven't learned how to use that yet and this was made by me, by hand.
For anyone who's interested, the specs of this one are as follows:
* 2 piece Okume body. * 2 piece Flamed Maple carve top with matching headstock veneer. * 5 piece laminate neck, Maple with 2 Ebony stripes. * Ebony Fingerboard with 3mm Stainless Steel fretwire, 25" scale and 24 frets. * Gotoh Floydrose tremolo (Bridge), locking nut & tuners. * Fishman Fluence Richard Z Rammstein Signature active pickups and electronics, with USB rechargeable battery pack, voicing pull/push pot and kill switch. * Dunlop flushmounted straplocks.
The next video in the tutorial series of the build should be coming out on that usual video place on the web in the next 2 weeks or so.
Happy to answer any questions here, and delighted to see so many fellow craft/maker people in a great sub! #diy source
