Stop oversharing!!! I cannot emphasize this enough. During an interview, you need to stick to the questions. Where you live, how you get to work, your side hustles, your savings account-all prevalent. All an employer needs to know is that you are available and willing to work and how your skill set is transferable to the posted job. When you get hired, your co-workers are not your friends. Keep it professional. Oversharing can be the reason you’re fired or demoted. Case in point: A young lady shares she’s emotionally exhausted because she’s recently divorced and her children are not adjusting well. When her performance starts decreasing, they believe her home life is the culprit. They suggest she take time off to refocus. In the meantime, she’s losing money and they are looking to manage her out. Please don’t argue with me and say it’s not legal. They can fire you without cause but can justify it with failure to meet performance expectations. #business
