Defeated by smoke smell after pulling out all the stops. Please help!
Moved into a smokers home who only smoked in master bedroom (we thinking actually in the master bath cause it’s worse there)
We cleaned the entire home with tsp 3 times before painting with kilz restoration, and did the master like 5 times until water finally ran clear. We have changed all flooring.
The rest of the home is perfect, but master still had that awful \*hint\* of smoke smell. We thought we found the culprit two days ago when we replaced the master bath vent fan and found the whole thing was disgusting with dusty, smoky grossness. We replaced the fan and piping and thought “this is it”
No, it’s still there. I did an overnight chorine dioxide treatment last night for 15 hours and can still smell it today behind the chlorine smell.
My best guess is maybe it’s somehow in the tile? Is that a thing even? I just feel so defeated. Is the only option to take out all the drywall and tile and start fresh? Or is there anything we can do?I just feel like crying, I grew up in a smokers home and the smell is bringing back a ton of bad memories. #home source
