This is an ornamental crabapple tree (Malus).
I took this photo on the street—isn't it lovely?
It is a small tree, and its fruit ripens in the autumn. These are tiny red, yellow, or crimson apples that stay on the tree for a long time. The fruit is edible but often tart, so it is usually made into jelly or jam, or eaten by birds.
