When did you stop wiping your kid’s butt?
My son recently turned 6 and I still wipe his butt when he poops. Besides wiping, he’s been fully potty-trained since age 3. I’ve attempted to let him wipe himself but it never goes well. It’s a disgusting mess. To avoid a mess and a 15 min ordeal, I just wipe him.
Also, because he doesn’t want to make a mess, he refuses to poop at school. He only poops places where he knows someone can wipe him. This causes him to withhold his stools for several hours until he gets home. He’s in kindergarten. I feel like I’m doing him a disservice, but I don’t think I can handle poop smeared everywhere. 😩
