Tips for junior Product Designers

Hi everybody

I’m a UX/UI designer with three years of experience. Lately, though, I’ve become more interested in product design—the kind where you do a lot of thinking, conduct research, build systems, and so on. But it turns out it has its own nuances that a typical UX designer might not grasp. Please share your insights if you’re someone with experience, preferably working in big tech, with extensive product experience, successful freelancers, art directors at design agencies, and other awesome people.

I’m a beginner freelancer in Upwork myself. I’ve noticed that many job postings aren’t looking for regular designers, but for those who help businesses increase conversion rates, lead generation, retention, and so on.

Although I have 3 years of experience, my UX skills are basic; otherwise, I’ve mostly worked on the UI side. That’s why I’m more interested in that area right now. I also want to work as a product manager in big tech in the future, so I really want to be good at this.

Thanks in advance :)
