ruined sawyer squeeze? Filtered water with electrolyte powder a while ago.
Super new to backpacking and I bought a Sawyer Squeeze to screw onto my Smart water water bottles to filter water. I was on a hike a few months ago and decided to use it and I put electrolyte mix into the water and used it with the filter. I didn't think anything of it. It's now been 2-3 months or so and I just saw something saying to absolutely not do that, and it can ruin the filter and breed bacteria. Did I ruin it?? Should I backwash it or just get a new one? It's been sitting in my garage in my bag since then so it's been in the heat.
Don't judge me please lol asking for real advice
