What am I doing wrong?
I have applied to over 30+ jobs in my area, and still I haven’t been hired at any! I’ve been a person to stay in my jobs, and not jump from job to job. I did relocate from my home state almost 2 years ago. I worked at a cow meat plant for a year. Even got promoted to work Quality Assurance. I had to quit because I decided to have my first child, and unfortunately my pregnancy was not easy. It’s been a year since I last worked, and I’m ready to go back. You may ask why not just go back to my old job? Working as QA is very demanding, and requires long hours of work, sometimes working up to 10 hours. My focus right now is my baby, and I want a stable job with set hours. I don’t have a degree or anything , and I understand I’m not going to get a 60k salary position with just a high school diploma. I’m getting worried because I had an interview at a local gas station, and I was rejected! I’m not sure what I said wrong in my interview, the manager who interviewed me did say she already had people in mind for the position anyway. I’ve gone as far as to show up in person, and ask for the hiring managers. Still nothing they always tell me that they’ll look into my application, or I get left on delivered by them. I have experience in customer service and in kitchen environments. What do you guys think I should do? Or is there just no hope for me?
