Airline forced me check my carryon then lost it. It's been a week and no one is helping us. My husband's antidepressants and other meds are in there along with other stuff we need.
ETA: I know you should never check meds. I have a lot of medications and medical devices and it was already taking forever just to find a way to carry what I could manage while everyone behind me was waiting to board. I'm jealous that for a lot of you it fits easily under your seat or in a purse or backpack, but for me it's not that easy and some of the meds slipped through the cracks.
We flew from Portugal to Palermo, Italy with a layover in Rome. As we were boarding, they told me I needed to check my carryon because there wasn't anymore overhead space. I was hesitant because the stuff I put in my carryon is there because it's the stuff we \*need\* and couldn't risking checking. She said it would land at our final destination. I showed her the ticket that showed our final destination and asked "Palermo?" and she was like "Yes, Palermo, your final destination."
Well guess what? When we got to Palermo it wasn't there. We couldn't reach anyone until the next day and they said it was in Rome and we should've gotten it at the baggage claim there. And then what? Go back through security? Why would we think that was what we should do? So the lady on the phone said they would send it to naples, where we were going next.
We landed in Naples and the guy there said it was still in Rome, but he would request it be sent to Naples where we could pick it up the next day. We asked if it could stay there for 3 days because we couldn't come back the next day. He said absolutely.
So we went back today and guess where it is? \~Palermo\~
And we're going to Rome tomorrow. I'm so fucking pissed and we haven't had our medications in a week. We've spent so much money on taxis back and forth from the airport and my camera was in there so we're missing out on taking pictures. What the hell am I supposed to do? We've called the company at least 10 times and spent hours on hold. We filed a claim over a week ago and nothing is happening.
