Replacing galvanized plumbing with PEX, do I need to add a new "ground" for my electrical panel? Good morning DIY folks. I'm replacing old galvanized pipe with new PEX in a 1960s era home. The electrical panel currently has a wire from the ground bus tied to the galvanized pipe. There is a separate grounding rod, currently connected to the neutral bus (white wires) in the panel. How should it be wired? How should I properly ground the panel without having galvanized pipe available to use as a ground? The simplest solution seems to be adding a new ground rod and connect the existing panel ground line (that was attached to the galvanized pipe) to it. Is there a better way? Should the neutral line be connected to a grounding rod? Thanks for reading.
