What's the best DIY gift you've ever seen?
A couple of close friends are moving, and they have a baby on the way. One of them is an artist, and they’re pretty particular about what goes in their home. I’ve looked through so many gifts for creative people lists, but I keep coming back to making something just for their new place.
I’ve made homemade Christmas gifts before, mostly little wooden things. This time I’m thinking of a matching set: a sign for the entryway, a couple of wall hooks, and something for the nursery with a bit of acrylic. Making one small piece by hand is fine. Getting several larger pieces to line up and look like they belong together is the part I’m worried about.
I’ve even started looking at laser cutters from xtool and glowforge. My wife has a studio and has been thinking about making custom home pieces to sell, so we’d have a reason to use one after this gift too. But I might be getting ahead of myself. What’s a DIY gift you’ve seen or given that someone actually kept and used?

How would you cover this up?

Electrician moved the meter down and changed the mast holding up the utility wires, leaving part of the wall exposed.
The mast was previously covered by some sort of rectangular aluminum channel, which the electrician assured me was easy to find in a hardware store - spoiler alert, it is not.
I'm pretty concerned about water getting in. Any suggestions as to how I could cover this up?

Bifold Door Question
I have a closet that is true 58"x80"
it seems like there are no bifold doors that are 29" each. 30" would be too much and 28" would leave a 2 in gap (I think). Not sure if I should shim the opening by an inch on each side and then case it somehow or if there is some better alternative? there's also managing a 1" casing which I'm not sure is common.
Any advice helps. thanks in advance
