YSK: if you're using Internet Explorer and absolutely need it but it keeps opening Edge instead, you can rename or remove the BHO folder MicrosoftEdgeApplication<EDGE VERSION>BHO) and it will stop IE from letting Edge take over it
Why YSK: I have some old cameras and the only way I can use my PC to see/control them is via an old IE plugin that no other browser supports, not even Edge.

When Edge started taking over IE there was a setting you could change in Edge to stop it from doing so, but a recent update removed said setting.

I learned that there's a plugin in C:Program Files (x86)MicrosoftEdgeApplication<EDGE VERSION>BHO that makes Edge take over IE... so if you were to rename or remove that folder... IE will not defer to EDGE

DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK... I don't use Edge at all so I honestly don't know whether that' breaks anything or not, I would uninstall Edge if I could, but as you know Microsoft does not make it optional.

So far I had to delete that folder 2 weeks after deleting it the first time as Edge will try and restore it....
