Approaching strangers used to fill me up with anxiety, until I learned this tip.
A quick tip for those with social anxiety.
In 1998 the game boy color was released, that’s when I decided people were too much work and I’d rather interact with something I can understand.
The problem is when I hit college and high school, I wanted to make friends but I’d be too scared to approach strangers.
Then I learned this quick tip.
Anxiety exists when you internal focus is on yourself:
- what are they going to think?
- How do I look?
- What if I say something stupid?
If you want to stop being anxious ask yourself questions that put the internal focus on others
-what are they likely thinking right now?
-How can I help them?
-what if they want to meet me like I want to meet them?
This little trick gets me out my my own head and stops me from being anxious.
