jigsaw as bandsaw/scroll saw?

just bought the DW333KT-QS jigsaw. can i invert this and use as a bandsaw/scroll saw until i have space/moneys to buy one of those?

pretty much only intend to use this on smaller projects like boxes. i have some pieces of wood i’d like to use but they are way too thick
