no matter how much I study or do during the day it’ll still feel like I’ve done nothing or not enough
I’ve recently started uni as a physics major and saying that it has been tough would be an understatement, I’m taking 4 classes and midterms are next week. I’m working 16 hours over the weekends as well. These past few days I’ve been trying to study as much as possible but every night and every evening no matter how much I do I still feel like I’ve done barely anything
Now I’m not gonna bs myself, I still take long breaks and go on my phone and I still slack even while doing work but everyday I try to improve even if it’s just a little.
Every morning I give myself a vague check list of things that I have to do, the problem is that (at least in my major) it is hard to know how long something will take me, I could plan on doing several problems in a day but if it turns out just the first one is extremely hard and I spend the whole day on it I’ll feel like I’ve failed myself at the end of the day. I don’t know.
I often have to remind myself how far I’ve come and think of those who believe in me in order to keep going. I will say I can have fairly severe anxiety at times because of this and the only way to get rid of it is to study (especially now with midterms coming up) . The problem is that the anxiety always comes back. I’ll get sudden feelings that I’ll never make it, that the content is too hard. That I’ll fail.
So I’m dealing with trying to study as much as possible while a little voice in the back of my mind sometimes tells me what a gargantuan effort that’ll be and how I’ll have to cram more and more.
I don’t know what to do, I feel like I need to find a balance of some sort. What do yall think. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
