This is my attempt at flaming star nebula. I captured this image using ZWOasi1600mm camera, combine with Antila edge SHO 4.5nm filters.
I used graxpert, blurx, noisex and starx on all three of the sho images. I then stretched them separately and combined Ha and Oiii into a HOO image. I found the Sii to be weak and I despised to use it as a yellow highlight instead of a full SHO. I struggled a lot with the colors after combining HOO, oiii data had some weird gradient that didn’t go away easily, even after several tries with different background extraction processes. I used the toolbox script «SelectiveColorCorrection» to play around with the colors, and ended up with this result. I then went ahead and blended in the Sii data using image blend as yellow highlight, which doesn’t really look like much because my inexperience with tool.
I’m looking to get any advice/critic when it comes to my final image and my workflow, my questions is: is it best to combine the channels before or after stretch? Should the RGB/SHO combination be the first thing I do, or should I work separately on each channel before combination? Is used pixinsight to process this image
