Milky Way, Andromeda, and a Perseid meteor — North Shore of Lake Superior, Minnesota
My first ever attempt at astrophotography! I took a trip up to Minnesota’s Arrowhead Region for the Perseids, and this was my first time in a Class 2 Bortle Zone. I was shocked to see how much an iPhone can capture from a dark-sky location. Also managed to catch a Perseid meteor in the frame completely by chance. :)
Acquisition Details: iPhone 15 Pro Max 24mm f/1.78 30s ISO 10,000
Single 30-second exposure using Night mode, shot on a tripod along the North Shore of Lake Superior.
Processing: Edited in Snapseed. Adjusted contrast, highlights, shadows, white balance, structure, and selective brightness/contrast to bring out the Milky Way, Andromeda Galaxy (M31), and meteor. Added a subtle vignette and crop. No stacking or compositing.
I can’t wait to level up and invest in some equipment. Any recommendations are welcome! #space source
