Tried using my Helokeep 26M for a fence check today instead of taking the truck

My Helokeep 26M finally arrived after almost two weeks, and today was the first time I used it for an actual job around the property instead of just riding it up and down the driveway.

One of the gates near the back field had started sagging, so I needed to go out with a pair of pliers, some wire, gloves, and a bottle of water. The truck felt unnecessary for such a small job, but walking there while carrying everything is annoying, especially when I usually realize I forgot something halfway out.

I put the tools in a small bag on the rear rack and took the bike.

The route is mostly grass with a short gravel section and a dirt track that has a few shallow ruts from the tractor. The bike felt comfortable on that section, and I did not have to slow down as much as I normally would on my regular bicycle. It was also nice being able to stop at the gate, grab the tools, and get the job done without making a whole trip out of it.

The quiet part may be what I like most so far. I can head toward the back field early in the morning without starting the truck or ATV and waking everyone up.

The main downside is the weight. It is easy enough once I am riding, but pushing it backward into the shed through a narrow doorway is awkward. I am probably going to clear a better spot for it instead of moving other equipment every time.

So far, it seems well suited to the small jobs where walking takes too long but using the truck feels excessive. I could see myself using it for checking gates, carrying a few hand tools, or making a quick run between the shed and the field.

For anyone else using an e-bike around a homestead, how are you carrying tools without everything bouncing around on rough ground?
