Losing my passion in Graphic Design it's because of AI
Lately all this talk about AI really now a shitty era for someone who works a lot in front of screen.
I've been designing and developing application for 13-15 years already, It's always a joy for me whenever I create something out of lines of codes or in pixels. Like there's a lot of things I love doing logo design, web development, app development then lately video editing the JOY becomes much better when I get paid.
I lived and breath design, I work with a lot of non-profit organization creating logos, teaching people to design and I've been part of a community that teaches people with disabilities. To cut it shortly I'm passionate about design with or without payment. (Since I'm in a position where my salary is secure, at least for a little while until AI takes over and I loose to it),
Lately when I walk into a room creating campaign all I'm hearing is "can we do it in ai", "just put an ai on it", "it can be done with ai faster". It feels like the art form I love is consumed by businesses and the skills I learn for years will be just something unprofitable. I still produce poster using photoshop and not to brag most people prefer those than mass produce poster, but right now it's not about "how this image convey the message" it's now more on aspect of "can we grow more sales using 10 additional image". I've never experienced burn out like this. I can work 12-16 hours straights for campaign graphic design deck and get back the next day with the same attitude
It's been a few months now since I have this feeling and slowly I'm getting into farming and planting things. I love the salary the graphic and web design has given me but right now less and less people appreciates the master, now it's all about "AI can do it better"
