Is my PSU dead ?
Hi, since a few weeks I've been waking up to my computer being powered off despite putting it in hibernate for the night.
Two days ago I think I smelled something hot or burning for a second but I'm still not sure it came from my PC, as I was using it and it was still working the next day.
Then today pressing the power button did nothing. Some motherboard LEDs were initially on before turning off, no fan was spinning and nothing else made any light or noise.
I tried shorting the case power button pins, nothing happened. Then I tried the paperclip test, shorting pins 16 and 15 of the 24-pin cable, and I *did* hear the familiar clicking noise that happen when pressing the case power button, however the PSU fan didn't spin and nothing happened.
Is my Corsair RM750 from 2014 finally dead ? Can I rule out any other issue ? And is a CX750 ATX a good replacement ?
