GR20 Early June 2026 Conditions and Skipping Stages
Hi all! I’m struggling to find up to date information about snow and ice levels on the northern parts of the GR20 right now. I plan to start on June 2nd from Calenzana and I’m wondering if anyone has either: (1) information about current conditions i.e. is ice axe and crampons currently required to pass certain stages, if so which ones? (2) is it possible to skip certain high altitude stages that may require ice axe and crampons? From the map it looks possible to leave the trail at ascu stagnu and reconnect at Vallone. Is this possible/recommended? #hiking #activity
