Any rappers similar to Aesop Rock?
Hello all! I've been into rap for a while now, but an artist that has always stood out to me is Aesop Rock. (Not to be confused with Aesop Rocky). His verbose, lyrical style that leaves your head spinning and wondering "wtf did he just say" is just incredible. I've been listening to his album "None shall pass" for a while now, and especially have been vibing with Citronella. The depth and detail of storytelling is astonishing. Klutz was just him dropping bar after bar. I saw him live a few years back and my jaw hit the floor when he performed No Regrets. His work with Rob Sonic and DJ Big Wiz in Hail Mary Mallon is also very good, and I'm sure a lot of people have heard their one-hit wonder "Whales", but some of their other songs like "Jonathan", "Kiln", and "Dollywood" are also very good.
What I like most about it is that while it sounds like word salad at first, once you start taking it apart and looking at the meaning of each line, its a lot deeper than you'd think.
Anyways, I need more music of this style, stuff that you can dissect and chew on every single bar, and I was hoping some of y'all might have some recommendations!
