Today Iām answering two questions about the Discord and Reddit restriction in the Philippines.
Question 1: If I were Discord or Reddit, would I consider the ban procedure illegal?
In my opinion, I would question it because the restriction happened without a publicly described court process. But whether it was legally invalid would depend on Philippine law and the authority of the government agencies involved.
Question 2: Can Discord or Reddit claim damages for a one-day ban?
In my opinion, they could seek legal remedies if they believe the action was unlawful and caused actual losses. But damages would depend on what the law and a court determine.
