We’re all teachable—but only when we have the right motivation to learn and grow. The problem is, most people don’t fully understand what motivation actually is. It’s not some magical energy you wait for. It’s simply the reason behind your actions—or your inaction.
There are only two types of motivation: moving toward pleasure or away from pain. But here’s the truth most people miss: it’s not real pleasure or pain that drives us—it’s the thought of it. Your mind decides if something will feel good or bad, easy or hard. That one thought determines whether you take action or avoid it.
Think about it: when something feels fun or rewarding, you jump in without hesitation. But when it feels boring, difficult, or uncomfortable—even if it’s important—you procrastinate. Not because it actually is painful, but because you believe it will be.
So what can you do? Start by noticing what you’re telling yourself. If the thought of doing something feels heavy, ask yourself why. Then shift the thought. Focus on the reward, the growth, or the relief that comes after doing it. Motivation begins in your mind.
When you learn to influence your thoughts, you gain the power to change your actions. That’s how real progress happens—not by waiting to “feel” motivated, but by choosing better thoughts and committing to follow through.
This is how you begin breaking free from limiting beliefs—and start living the life you’re truly capable of.
