🗳️ Sweden’s preliminary election results gave the centre-left opposition a 176–173 projected-seat lead in the 349-member Riksdag, leaving the next government uncertain.
The opposition is led by former prime minister Magdalena Andersson. Incumbent Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson said he would examine possible governing combinations as the close count continued.
📰 The result also pointed to a weaker preliminary showing for the Sweden Democrats, the anti-immigration party that had supported Kristersson’s outgoing coalition from outside government. 🇸🇪
The Swedish Election Authority said final Riksdag results, including the seat allocation, were expected during the weekend after the 13 September vote. Coalition negotiations will determine whether either bloc can form a government.
