So last night I saw that newegg still had the 5800X3D 10th anniversary in stock and decided to buy one. I'm already having buyers remorse because I'm not sure this upgrade is actually worth $350.
Currently I have:
Ryzen 5 5600X 3080 ti 64 GB RAM
I primarily play Escape from Tarkov on 1440p. On Ultra settings I average 50 fps. GPU and CPU utilization ranges from 40-55%. On low settings the fps is about the same. GPU utilizations drops to about 25-35%. CPU utilizations is 50-60%. (On streets, the worst optimized map) I plan to start playing some sim racing soon.
I'm wondering if the CPU is worth keeping. Mainly I'm trying to avoid upgrading to DDR5 for as long as possible. If the CPU isn't going to help much which is what I'm thinking, that $350 could go towards a steering wheel and kit.
