Recently build a new PC, did i make the wrong call with the cpu
Recently build a new pc, since I never upgrade pc’s during their lifetime and am a pretty set on the intel platform I had a choice between the 250k and 270k. Since I planned on air cooling (bequiet dark pro 6) and I like low thermals due to heat build up in the room during gaming sessions I went with the lower tdp of the 250K. Studied performance and reviews and at 1440p ultra gaming I noticed it performed within a couple of percent of the 270k at lower power and heat production. Since i never upgrade I used the extra funds for stepping up from a 5070ti to a 5080. I will forever be gaming at 1440p, did i make the right call to go for the lower ranked cpu or should I have went for the 270k and find a couple of bucks to keep the 5080 aswell.
My research says the 250k and 5080 are well paired for atleast the expected 6 to 8 years I hope on doing with this setup (previously ran a 8700k with a 1080ti which worked very well for 8 years)
My doubt comes from always having i7 chips and this being my first i5.
The system works like a charm and i am very happy with it, but hopefully someone who spends more time building these things can see reasoning in my thought proces and take away the doubt
