1 HP shaper vs 3 HP router
I own a 1 horsepower shaper for which I have no knives and a 3 horsepower router for which I have no table. I'm coming up on needing to build some interior doors and my first set of kitchen cabinets, but I'm having trouble deciding which machine would be the best to invest in.
A set of interior door cutters cost roughly the same as the router bits, but I need to build a router table if I went that route.
I understand that router horsepower isn't directly translatable to the shapers horsepower, but one HP seems comically undersized. I'm worried that the shaper won't be up to the task of profiling the door stiles.
Does anyone have any advice on which tool setup would be best?
