I never thought upgrading my builds were worth it…

I never thought upgrading my builds were worth it... finally caved - god it's so amazing.

Hey all, just some background I've been building for \~30 years.. nothing major just my personal gaming, family, friends, labs... etc. However I just never felt compelled to upgrade any of my gaming builds and just decided to build new when the time came.

Lately I had some overheating issues with a build I did over 5 years ago and the nagging GPU crashes I've been dealing with occasionally the whole time finally got to me. You can see the build here: https://pcpartpicker.com/b/ZDpG3C#cx3615052

Old build:

* AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
* Asus ROG Strix X570-I Mini-ITX AM4 MB
* 16G DDR4 RAM
* Powercolor Red Dragon Radeon RX 5700-XT 8GB GPU

I was originally trying to budget something much less expensive for the GPU and still game on 1440p, but most older models are just not in stock near me.

I ended up swapping the CPU to a Ryzen 5 5500-X3D with a new Noctua CPU Fan, and a Saphire Pulse Radeon RX 9060-XT 16GB GPU.

The performance increase, thermals, and stability improvement have been amazing. I feel like I've been gaming on a new PC. My side panel used to be piping hot to the touch and now it's cool as a cucumber. Of course each situation is different, but I feel like a fool for not really considering the upgrade path before.

Posting this in hopes it might help others in a similar dillema.
