Skip the 24. The $40 stick is the trap, not the savings. A lone PNY 8 next to a Corsair pair is how a first build spends the weekend chasing random crashes instead of actually playing. Speeds, timings, and ranks have to agree, and 16+8 still leaves one channel lopsided. Mainly gaming with some editing: matched 32 of DDR4 is the boring correct answer, and boring is what you want while the case is still on the floor. Gaming alone can live on 16, but editing plus a browser plus the game is exactly where 32 stops being a luxury. If that PNY matches speed and you already have an identical stick to pair it with, the math changes — otherwise leave the $40 and buy the kit.
