the greatest weapon of the North Vietamese was the Journalist not the Gun
Whislt true the Viet cong did nearly nothing and got decimated in the Tet offensive, the moral effects of them poteintally killing some US soldiers, combined with Cronkite opposing the war publicly (Clonkite was a journalist who was one of the most trusted man in America at the time (according to a poll)) caused public sentiment to shift against the US which would lead to them pulling out thus allowing the North Vietamese to win.
to be fair to them, media at this scale interacting with war is a fairly new concept in history and has only really effected a few wars ( Vietnam and Iraq are the only ones I can mention due to the rest being less than 20 years ago)
I have realised I forgot to explain what the sensationalism was, Misreporting of undecieded conscription numbers not causlities, #history
