A technical fault at NATS’s Prestwick control centre…

A technical fault at NATS’s Prestwick control centre disrupted flights across Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England on 21 September. ✈️

NATS said the issue had been fixed by about 10:30 am and it was working with airports and airlines to safely lift traffic restrictions.

Airlines including British Airways and easyJet reported cancellations, while delays continued as operations reset. The Guardian reported 35 cancellations across UK airports at that stage.

The incident came less than two weeks after another major NATS disruption. NATS said the Prestwick fault was unrelated to that earlier issue; the cause of the latest failure had not been established in the retrieved reports. ⚠️
