In 1971 the idea of a portable personal computer was going through the mind of Alan Kay, This idea was later then picked up by IBM and IBM created the first ever prototype of a portable personal computer called: The IBM Special Computer APL Machine Portable or otherwise known as (SCAMP) IBM made it the first commercially available portable computer. it appeared in September 1975,
