Charles of Anjou was Saint Louis IX’s younger brother, his junior by twelve years. With support from his brother the king, he was able to establish a cadet dynasty in Naples and Sicily, a dynasty that also went on to rule Hungary for a time. Just goes to show what could happen when younger sons refrained from rebelling
