how to keep a conversation going?
Hello, so I realised nowadays that some people cant keep the conversation going, maybe its because of the years of isolation due to covid-19, but (some) people dont know how to do the back & forth talking. I would ask a question, for example, and they would reply back with one word and thats it. I would have to ask another question again to keep it going and its very bothering.
Its not like the other person isnt interested to converse, they just dont have that 'flow'. How can I ask continue the conversation despite the one word answers? Sometimes I dont have anything to ask about even though I want to continue the conversation. I hope this isnt making me sound pretentious or anything, I just would like some ideas to keep it going & maybe the other person would get engage in the conversation. Thank you,
