Tried Rephrasing My Argument
In it’s simplest form i tried explaining to my christian mother religion only persist through the tongue. On earth we live with a lot of objective truths, we can all collectively agree to stop discussing food spoilage and it would still be something we all have to deal with and live with regardless. We can cease discussing the sun and yet it’s existence doesn’t fade, you would still have to live your life in harmony with the sun because is an objective truth that it will rise again. But i told her that to tell her god is not real, god only exist because we say god exists. If every human collectively stopped discussing religion it would fade away because god is not something you have to deal with people are. God is not something you see,smell or hear (and yes I expect the creator of the entire universe to be something tangible) but that’s just not the case. So i asked her two questions next. 1 does god existence fade when not being discussed. 2 if not where is the tangible evidence that god exist, where is the objectivity in my life that shows i have to live in harmony with god. She argued god is tangible so i asked how and where, she had nothing to say. The analogy needs to be refined but ey 🤷
